Two decades ago, Tipper Gore cited Prince’s “Darling Nikki” as the reason why there should be warning labels on albums. It appears the current administration has a much more favorable view of the musician, as he was invited to perform a private concert at the White House on Saturday night.

According to reports, Prince staged a two-hour set for an all-star audience that included the President and First Lady, as well as Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and his date Ciara, Jon Bon Jovi, James Taylor, Tyler Perry, and others. Stevie Wonder was also in attendance and joined Prince on-stage to perform “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours”.

In a press briefing Monday, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest refused to acknowledge Prince’s participation, only saying that the Obamas paid for the entire event themselves. However, Wilson spoiled the secret on his Instagram account.

Prince’s stay in Washington, DC also included two sold-out shows at Warner Theatre that were open to the general public. Wonder made a cameo during one of those shows, joining Prince for “Superstition”. Watch fan-shot footage below.
