People have sought catharsis after the election of Donald Trump in a number of ways, from protesting in the streets to singing songs to throwing massive parties. Producer and writer Jay Martel found his reprieve by writing one final Obama Anger Translator sketch for Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele, which Key presented last night on The Daily Show.

Luther, Barrack Obama’s fictional anger translator from Key & Peele, once accompanied the President to the correspondents’ dinner. So it seemed only fitting that he should join the outgoing POTUS for his farewell address to the nation. In the skit (above), Peele’s Obama hoped Key’s Luther would remain calm while discussing the upcoming transition, but things predictably escalated as soon as the election was mentioned.

“How did this happen, man?” Luther yelled as he kicked and bucked. “Y’all gonna vote for a man who makes America hate again? Don’t you understand? This is how The Hunger Games starts!”

From there, there were shots at Trumps’ Putin connection, the “outdated Electoral College mumbo jumbo bullshit,” and Melania Trump’s speech plagiarism. As a final note, Obama gave an honest, “Thanks, America. It’s been real, it’s been good — but it ain’t been real good.” Which Luther faithfully translated as, “I guess orange really is the new black. Good luck with your healthcare, assholes. I’m out.”

If only there were a sketch show to give us Donald Trump’s Maturity Translator.
